Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! It looks like Santa brought some good loot for a couple of good little girls this year!
Avery liked her new bow and chair that she insisted on testing them out immediately!
After a little convincing we were able to get Addie excited about Christmas. This morning when we heard her playing in her room we asked if she was ready to see what Santa had brought her and she replied "NO". What kid in the history of Christmas has ever said No on Christmas morning?
It didn't take long for her to warm up to the idea of presents, one look and she was excited.
Nothing says Christmas like new undies and some purple jammies, Yup thats how we roll.

And who will be cleaning up this mess, I'm ready for a nap! Christmas Eve is the longest night ever for kids but seems to be the shortest night for Mom and Dad.
Now that we have had a good morning of presents time for breakfast, Yummmm.
Addie is patiently waiting for her pink pancakes.
While Avery enjoyed her first taste of oatmeal.
We are very blessed and grateful to celebrate the birth of our Savior. He has blessed our lives beyond anything we could ask for! With that we gives thanks to the One who has made it all possible and we thank Him for all we have been given.
Me To, Thank you for my Mommy and Daddy!

Cookies for Santa

To ensure that Santa received the best cookies on the block, we hosted a cookie decorating party.
The other Hannants and the Beddes family came over to help our cause. But after making cookies all after noon Torrie and I were grateful the kids were all over the cookie decorating!

Cookie Cookie who wants a cookie?
Just a few of our master cookie decorators.
Dave and Jody joining in the fun! They couldn't let the kids have all the fun, or use all the sprinkles. Someone had to train them how to moderate.
While everyone decorated, Addie watched Max and Ruby. She wanted nothing to do with the cookies. I tried to get her to watch the Grinch Who Stole Christmas. I had it turned on for her and not even 5 minutes later I heard her screaming for help. So I run back to find her under the cover hiding and yelling "help Help, turn it off!" So I do and she jumps out and goes "Whew that was guaoss (close)". Yeah Addie that Grinch sure can be scary.

All in All we had a fun night of cousin, friends, fun and food!

Twas the Night before the Night before Christmas

And all through the house munchkins were stirring, there better not be a mouse!
This week has been all about relaxing, fighting to stay healthy and enjoying some good ol' movie marathons!

No Joke we are excited that we don't have to leave the house unless we want to! The stockings are hung, the presents are wrapped the groceries purchased and Santa we want you!

Countdown to Christmas

Who wants to see Santa? I DO I DO! All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth. For this rollie pollie ollie it just isn't going to happen. But she has been a good little girl and we will just have to wait and see what Santa has in mind... This week Avery has been ALL about blowing bubbles. Spit is better than spit up, so I will take it!
Addie loves this time of year. Every package is an exciting surprise.
"Cheese... Thank You AUntie MoMo, I can't believe all these presents are for me." In Addie's world all presents are for her! I know I am raising such a kind thoughtful little "big" girl.
This week hasn't been completely lazy. I cleaned the house from top to bottom, hosted a small open house, and created this amazingly cute blanket dress. I'm not going to lie, I amaze myself sometimes!
Grandma made it into town just in time for Dave and Jody's big Holiday party! It is always more fun when Grandma comes to town!
It wouldn't be a party if we didn't have a change in wardrobe and one "neepy" princess!

This week seemed to last forever. The night that I received the most sleep I woke up looking like I was beaten in the night. All the other nights I had multiple interruptions and lots to do the following day! Thank goodness I am done and ready for Christmas! Santa it is all you!

My Little Elves

Avery is just happy to look at all the twinkly lights and watch Addie Dance around. Addie loves her new skirt that she just had to have and it was too cute to say no! She has been such the little helper lately. When she isn't helping me decorate or wrap presents she is helping me stay busy with all her uncleaning!
Addie also LOVES to "nuggle" she also gives some of the best HuGs! While Dad is in Nashville living it up, us girls are enjoying a lazy weekend! Ok mostly lazy, I baked cookies, decorated the front porch and mailed out Christmas cards.
Hopefully we can get it all cleaned up before Dad gets home! Addie is more than ready for Dad to come home. Every morning "wheres Dad?" and then when we go in the garage she gets all excited when she sees his car "Dad Home", and I have to tell her no. Then she goes "auhhh Dad wook, still". Its nice to know that she loves us both!

Beginning to look like Christmas

Whew, now that the ward Christmas party is over, I can think about decorating our house! The ward activity was a success and now Addie is all about Danta Dlause! I'm not sure that she understands that Danta (Addie lingo for Santa) brings presents to good little girls, but she sure does like the big man in red!
While Addie and I decorated the tree, Dad and Avery watched football. I must say that when Addie said "No watch bootball, daddy, no more" it was music to my ears!
After an evening of neglect(I'm not going to lie the kitchen was a disaster), the Hannant Home is festive!
My helper ditched me to decorate by myself and played dress up with her friends! You gotta give the kid some credit she would make a fantastic stylist!
She is also a trendsetter! Every kid needs to dance around with mismatched boots!
It is official all 4 of us are addicted to Drumsticks! Avery full on stole mine and went to town!
Good thing she is really cute. I don't share my Drumsticks with just anyone! I learned the hard way that Addie steals all the best bites. I was just surprised that Avery is stealing my ice cream at 4 mo.
In true Hannant fashion Avery is snuggled and enjoying a good nap. And on that note I am headed to snuggle in my warm bed and enjoy resting my eyeballs! It is going to be a long weekend, since Paul is in Nashville, its just me and the girls!

Holy Winter Wonderland

Holy Moly that is a lot of snow! We went to bed with less than an inch of snow and woke up to a winter wonderland of snow!
When I looked out the window this morning, I thought good thing I had Paul shovel the drive way last night! Oh well it was good exercise. I should know since I ended up doing it again this afternoon while Addie played and Avery napped.
Addie LOVES the snow! She is climbing to the top! She thought it was a mountain of snow. She could play until she turned into a popsicle, and still not want to come inside. She loves climbing up the "big ones" (mounds of snow from the shoveled driveways) and acting like she is queen of the hill. She would throw snowballs and just giggle as Ellie and the neighbor kids ran around .
After a long day of destroying the house, playing in the snow Daddy and Addie built a giant fort! Playing the "big one" aka the Ipad is always more fun when you can play it in a blanket fort!

I say why not finish the messy house off by destroying the last clean area. If we weren't snowed in, trying to decorate the house and getting things ready for the ward Christmas Party I might care, but I don't. There are always days for cleaning there are not always amazing snow days!

Thankful for Snow!

I know of at least one person who was excited about the snow. As for all of the adults who needed to travel had other 4 letter words running through heads! I bet they were not yelling SNOW SNOW SNOW like Addie.
This week in preparation for Thanksgiving and the invasions of Hannants I cleaned and learned how to bake homemade rolls. After a round of roll making I had even more cleaning to do. Addie not only loved to eat the rolls she also loved helping me make the rolls. Too bad she isn't so great at washing dishes.
Dad and Addie cleaned off our driveway and sidewalks. Addie was definitely a huge help. MoMo certainly wished that the Idaho Department of Transportation was better at clearing the roads instead of closing the roads. While we played in the snow MoMo was stuck in Snowville UT.
Luckily her amazing sister was able to get her the last of 8 rooms in the town. After waiting hours in her car stuck at the flying J truck stop. She was able to spend the night in a warm and mostly clean room.
Wednesday Morning the road was opened and she was able to continue her trek to our house.

Thursday afternoon we all headed to Dave and Jody's and enjoyed an amazing feast fit for Kings. Since the Utah Hannants decided not to make the drive due to the weather. There was even more food to be enjoyed. We had an incredible meal and an amazing time with the Quist cousins.
As for the rest of the weekend we lounged around and enjoyed leftovers and watched movies by the fire.

Sunday was bittersweet at our house. The end of a long lazy weekend had finally come to an end. As we got up and readied ourselves for church we learned that we got to have our sweet MoMo one more day. Thank You Idaho Department of Transportation!

Hello Winter

Sweet snuggles with Daddy.
We LOVE our gas fireplace. being able to flip the switch and have instant heat has been heavenly. In Oregon we enjoyed our wood burning stove, but dry wood was sometimes hard to come by. With this arctic blast we have blowing thru we have been running our fire almost nonstop.
Lucky for us we have a little dusting of snow. We get to go out and play until we are frozen and then we get to come inside and snuggle in a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate, enjoy a good fire and watch a show.
A yard can never have enough snow angles. Whenever Addie noticed a patch of untouched snow, she would say "oh my goodness, nook Mommy" then drop and make a "no angle."
"No Mommy still not cold! No Mommy lots of No (snow)."
Ellie even loves the snow, not so much the cold part but she loved eating it and playing with Addie, well for a few minutes.

While Addie played in the freezing coldness of our backyard, Avery was sound asleep bundled in blankets of warmth. Avery will have her turn, but until that day may she stay bundled up and inside.
While we have been fortunate enough to have all the luxuries of our warm home with all the warmth and goodness we could imagine. Whereas our favorite Auntie MoMo was stranded in her car parked a Flying J in Snowville UT. She was on her way to come visit us and a blizzard struck and closed down a small 5 mile stretch of I 84, before MoMo could get through. Luckily her fantastic sister managed to get her the last available in Snowville. There were only 8 so she is one lucky duck. At least sshe isn't back tracking to Tremonton or spending the night in her car at the flying J. We will keep our fingers crossed and hopefully she makes here tomorrow!
