Take that Pottery Barn

A couple of months back Pottery Barn had these really cute chalkboard platters. I thought that they were absolutely perfect to give as wedding presents. This summer we happen to be invited to several, and as my luck would have it they are gone! I mean gone gone gone. Not in the store, not on the Internet and not in the catalog! Which resulted in me going "I can do that" and amazingly I did! This happens to be the first of several that I will be giving away this summer. I was so pleased with myself I had to show it off. More like prove that a project can survive a week on the kitchen table, a little crayon action from Addie and Ellie dog and still be giftable!

I Can Help!

The past couple of Saturday afternoons we have been tinkering in the yard. I've been the dandelion slayer and Paul has battled the grass, all while Addie usually jumps on the tramp or scooters about. But not today, she was Daddy's little helper.

The grass had grown over the sprinkler head. Addie was ready to do her part to make sure that it was in top notch working order! She knew Daddy used the screw driver but wasn't exactly sure how he used it. When in doubt just hit the thing to make it work (even if it is already working properly, shhh don't tell).

Now that the sprinklers are up and running, maybe the fertilizer will start to work and this grass will soon look lush and green! We can only hope! Next weekend, we will battle the edger, while do it all in one weekend when you can disperse the work out over several!

A Whale of a Tale

Addie had been so excited to put on her new pj's, but when Mom pulled out the camera, she had other plans! Not only did she not want to show off her new pj's, but she wasn't going to let Ellie show off her new hair cut either. At least they love each other, and we are only hoping that she will love her new sister just as much, but only a little softer!

Just in case you were wondering there are even purple whales on her bum!

PURPLE WHALE! You can't hear her, but that is what she was yelling! Saturday afternoon we decided to run to Costco to grab a few things, mainly diapers. Nearly $150 later, we make it out with a few treasures. For Addie, purple whale was the one and only thing she cared about! Out of the table full of pj options she wanted the one and only that was out of her size! So Dad settle the argument between Mom and child. Fine here Addie, close enough, right Mom! So we walked away with a size 4 purple whale pj set! Every night since it has been purple whale, and when she saw them in the dirty clothes today, she had other plans for purple whale! Luckily I managed to get her to personally place them in the washing machine, only with the promise that they would be clean in time for night night time tonight! Ahhh the joys of a very opinionated 2 year old!

Just Another Weekend at Home Depot

What we have to load up and go back to Home Depot again! Wow this is such a great Saturday afternoon. Lets hope that we get to take a walk to the park, that is if Dad isn't too grumpy! Home Depot seems to have that effect on him.

Yeah Dad survived and he is happy!

See Addie look at how great the new mower cut the grass!

If you can't tell, we had an eventful weekend. Paul decided that we needed a new mower. Saturday Morning Addie and Dad loaded up and headed to the Depot of headaches. After an hour of trying to get mower #1 started we all loaded up and headed back to the Depot of yet another headache. In typical Hannant fashion, an hour later we leave with a another new mower, but this time still in the box. Now that the new mower is assembled and it is 3 hours later we can now mow the yard! It wouldn't be a warm spring weekend at the Hannant house if we didn't manage to get a couple of trips into Home Depot or Lowes!

While the Parents are away the Kid will Play

Not exactly the ocean, but hey we live in Idaho.
While we were off enjoying ourselves in Mexico, Addie played with her Inotda here at home. We were lucky enough to be able to fly my mom here to watch Addie and keep her busy so that she didn't miss us too much. And that she did! While we were off gallivanting around Mexico Inotda took Addie on all kinds of adventures, Addie even got on the school bus. Man did she think that she was a big kid then!
They scootered around the neighborhood.

Ate all kinds of junk food, mostly popsicles and popcorn, Addie's personal favorites.
Played at the park most afternoons and even found true love! Addie was heart broken when her true love had to go home. Sorry Addie, Mom doesn't know the little boy.

Peek a boo! Inonna come and get me! No need to worry when Inotda comes to babysit! Addie and Inotda know how to have fun! Presents, junk food, playing at the park and lots of movies is just what Addie loves! Today when we had to take my Mom to the airport Addie was all happy to wave and say bye bye until she realized that we were not going with Inonna. She got pouty and said not "No Home" and then when we got home she went looking for Inonna. Good thing were headed that way in June!

Amazing Mexico

Time to kick back and relax we are on vacation!
Paul and I had an amazing opportunity to spend 5 days in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We were so fortunate to be able to spend some time with wonderful people in a beautiful place. It was a much needed and truly enjoyed vacation.
After 5 days we were still all smiles. We were on the bus packed and ready to come home and see our beautiful Addie Pie.
Before we left we managed to squeeze a whole lotta fun into our action packed vacation. Between the Amazingly beautiful surf town to downtown Puerto Vallarta crazy bus rides and the stinkin' Flamingo we made it home all in one piece. All I can say about the Mexican bus system is WOW! Whether being crammed in like sardines or scared for my life while the driver continues to talk on a cell phone we always made it back to our hotel, usually hours later but hey we were on vacation!
Sayulita was such a fun afternoon. A group of 8 pilled in a taxi van and took a field trip to a locals favorite. The shopping was authentic and the surf was great! Paul and the boys hit the waves while the wives either soaked up some rays or took to the shops. Guess what I chose! Shopping of coarse. I found an amazing jewelry store along with the best ice cream in Mexico. A cute old Mexican lady ran a tiny ice cream shop she spoke zero english, but had amazing flavors. I liked it so much I had it twice all in one afternoon. If you ever have a chance to eat Guanabana, fantastic!
Another great find was this popsicle stand in downtown Puerto Vallarta. If you can't tell I have a thing for sweets! What can I say I'm pregnant. The amazingly beautiful part about this town is that you have the beautiful ocean on the right and then on the left majestic green mountains.
If you were ever worried that being pregnant might keep me from enjoying all that Puerto Vallarta had to offer, think again! I still managed to sea kayak with the dolphins and take an amazing tour of the mountains! Shhhh don't tell, but I took a zodiac boat, then jumped in an old Mercedes truck, then took a mule to the top where from there we took a series of zip lines and repelled back down to the bottom. Not exactly what the doctor ordered, but it was a whole lotta fun!
Don't mind the aqua socks, first and only time they have ever been on my feet! My sandels didn't pass. I figured that it would be better to lay low than draw attention to myself, especially since I signed that I wasn't prego!

Easter at Grandma's

We love our new scooter! Thank you Grandma. While we were at the store Grandma decided that Addie and Jack needed Scooter so they could ride around outside and enjoy the sunny afternoon. She didn't realize that the wind would pick up and the clouds would roll in. But that didn't stop those two, they rode those things all over the house.

Please forgive the out of orderness of my pictures. What can I say, I'd rather use the few minutes that I had to finish a post instead of get irritated at the computer.
Addie didn't like the cold grass so Dad had to help her get her eggs. But for the most part Addie was more interested in what Jack was had in his basket.

And Jack was more interested in Addie's basket, well that is until he figured out that all the eggs in the yard were filled with candy.

Is that for me! I'm not sure how that got there but I like it!

Daddy and Addie putting the faces on their pretty eggs.

Jack REALLY enjoyed dying the eggs, he thought that it was amazing.

Wow this is the coolest thing ever!

See I can do it too, I'm a big girl!
This weekend was a lot of fun. Now that Addie is a little bigger it was amazing to watch her try new things and find fascination in old traditions. We were able to enjoy conference, some good food and good people. All in all I would say that it was definitely worth the drive!

Hanging out with Jack Jack

We don't share we race!

Baby Lucy is turning into a big little girl. She loves her blankie!

At least Jack will look at me, my child knows better! She would rather watch her show than look cute in a silly picture.

While hanging out at Grandma's house we were able see a lot of Mark and Emilee, which in turn Addie and Jack were able to stay up late every night playing, watching shows and being kids. Most of the time they were really cute, they would jibber jabber at each other. Once in a while the squeals would turn to screams but once the sorrys were said the battle was over and they were best friends again. Oh what it would be like to be a kid again.

On the Road Again!

"Nook Mommy, Teeze"
Addie never ceases to amaze me. This week we have had quite the road trip. We joined Paul on a business trip to Idaho Falls, then headed south to spend Easter with Grandma, Jack Jack and Lucy. After spending the night and all morning in a hotel with a kid and 2 dogs, its amazing that Paul is still alive.
As usual our car was packed to the brim with people, dogs and all the necessities. Not to mention a giant bag filled with toys, movies and treats. But who needs toys when you have ski googles and a helmet to entertain you. To say the least University Parkway was a heavenly sight. Several hours in the car with a kid, 2 dogs and a pregnant lady has the potential to be disastrous, luckily we survived unscathed.
