Rockin' with Cousin Ephie

Paul's cousin Ephraim from Australia has come to the states for a long visit and came to hang out with us for a week. It has been great, Addie is now addicted to Rock Band and thinks that she should be able to jam out every night until way way past her bedtime.

Luckily this little munchkin knows how to sleep in true rock star fashion. "If" as Addie likes to call him is always happy to help a mini rocker get some practice or a good ol' fashion jam session.

Addie still might be a little on the sickly side, but she know how to PARTAY.

A Mom leaves for a couple of hours and this is what I get. So much for the sleeping child and a quiet house. I get a munchie who is in charge of sound quality. She is just doing her part to make sure the band is ready to go on tour! But I guess this is what I should have expected leaving those two in charge.

Every Last Bubble

This kids of ours thinks that she is a fish, minus the water in her ears and eyes of course. After all warmth was gone and Addie was prunified, I decided it was time to drain the water and start our day. I say our day because we run on a completely different schedule than most people. At this point is was noonish and we were just getting started. Addie wasn't ready to start the day she was still trying to enjoy those beloved bubbles, and that she did. She played in the bottom of the tub rolling around in the remnant bubbles until she started to shiver. What a funny little munchie.

BiG Daddy Comes to Town

Lewy came to town to see Sidnie in a dance competition and then was headed to Pokie to see baby Creighton and spend some time with his girls. But Addie managed to squeeze in a little playtime while he stayed at our house. She wanted to make sure Lewy knew how to properly jump jump. Even a sick little girl wants to jump jump!

Stinkin' Easter Dress

In life there are just some people that you don't like. When you see them you smile and wave and have an occasional conversation, but when you walk away you always give that annoyed sigh. Well this person for me, high jacked my Easter/Spring dress. This year I made the mistake of purchasing a dress from good ol' Costco. Not that it is a bad place, it is just where everyone in our ward seems to find their fancy dresses. (Dually noted) I thought that I would be safe since I actually purchased the dress in January and they never had large quantities of them. I was wrong! It seems as though they received a large shipment of them just last week, as my nemesis came to church with her two girls dressed in my dress. If it had been anyone else I probably would have laughed it off and not made a big deal about it, but it wasn't.

Thus I had to start all over and try to find a new dress. This year I had trouble. I looked at all my usual favorites and I didn't love anything. I haven't been to Arkansas in forever so I don't have any Bella Jack special outfits. Thus I had to settle on a cute skirt and cardigan duo from Old Navy, and promise to find a killer cute dress later. I am hoping that it is just my hormones, because my dislike for this person is starting to get a little out of control. Now I just have to hope that I'm not too hormonal to find something for me.

Mail for Addie

Yesterday when we checked the mail we found a surprise for Addie! Inotda had sent her a little package. A told her that she needed to ask Daddy to help her open it, since she had given up after one wimpy attempt. So with a sweet face and a cute "tease".

A sucker was found! Yum.

With sucker still in hand she investigated to see what else she might find! A note, and a book! What a Monday, this kid is making out like a bandit. First a play lunch date then the park and a package, this kid is having a good week so far.

My Kind of Crafts

First of all I love Christmas presents in March. My Auntie Joey and Uncle Andy gave us a gift card for Christmas and I had trouble deciding what to purchase. A few months later I was able to settle on a beautiful cake stand. Which in fact I justified as a family present. I may be the one who has a mild obsession with cake stands, but Husband will be happy that he didn't have to buy it and Addie will enjoy stealing treats off it, so I say it counts as a family present. Thank you Auntie Joey and Uncle Andy. This month we are using it as an Easter center piece, treats will have to wait until next month.

A while back I made a post about how I made crafty things, but didn't enjoy the process. I thought I would clarify that a little. I enjoy easy not so technical crafts, like poking silk flowers into a Styrofoam ball or painting a picture frame and hot gluing ribbon to it. Those are all easy no stress kinds of crafts. I get to pick my colors and tweak them however I want and feel that they will coordinate with what I already own. I like not having to hunt and then settle for an over priced something that will do until I find what I want. I'm to fickle and move to often to really want to spend a lot of money on any one thing! And besides lets just face it, I need projects they keep me sane.

Boise Zoo

A beautiful Saturday afternoon! Perfect for checking out the Zoo. We have found that Addie eats the best when she is strapped in her car seat and can't get distracted. We find ourselves going through the drive thru more often than I care to admit. What can I say parenting at its finest!

Now that we have full bellies and our trash is all cleaned up we are ready to Zoo it up. For Boise it is actually a pretty good Zoo. Not like the Portland Zoo, but not too shabby. Addie loved watching all the different animals. It was especially cute when she would make the noise when she saw the animals that she knew, when she roared at the Lion and meowed at he leopard.

The Animals were great, but being able to play on animals was even more fun. She loved the play area. Every time she would slide down the life size Giraffe slide she would pet its head.

Weeeeee, What a nice Giraffe.

Addie loves playing with Daddy. It is so fun being silly especially when Mom is trying to take a picture.

And I'm not much better when Daddy take my picture.

All in all we had a great afternoon at the Zoo. By the end of the afternoon we all were a little grumpy and ready for a little treat and definitely a nap.

Rockin' the 80's

Mom, I just can't take my eyes off the TV your should know this by now.

Mom I am not going to look at you. Just face it. When I say cheese that is as good as it is going to get!

So this past Friday, Aka PAYDAY! Addie and I went shopping! First we hit up Costco, just to have our monthly coupons show up Monday afternoon. BOOOO. Anyway, the past couple of trips to Costco they have had these Disney swimsuits and Addie has wanted one very badly. You can't see the swimsuit but know that it is on, under her cover up. She Struggled between Tinkerbell and Little Mermaid but when I told her that if she wanted one she had to pick ONE. Ariel won in the end and as you can see she couldn't wait until the warm weather to give it a test run. OH and her kicks are new as well. It has been warmer around here the past couple of days, so we have been going to the park. We realized that Addie had outgrown all her tennis shoes. These pink with pink polka dot Converse All Stars are what she had to have! When she laid eyes on these puppies they were hers. The pure excitement was absolutely adorable. The Minute they were on her feet she had to test them out, she jumped around and stomped her feet to make sure they were indeed perfect. The shoes have already been well worn. she barely takes them off. She even sleeps with them. I tried to hide them on Sunday, but no. She found them and wore them with her dress. At least I know that when she picks something out, she will definitely wear it and like once we get it out of the store! I can't always say the same for myself. Oh well I'm the mom I get to change my mind!

Just Another Day at the Park

Don't mind that bruise on Addie's forehead, she just takes after her mother. The door frame ran into her.
So onto the real story of the week! This week Wednesday was our Monday. Lets just say Addie and I were a real team! First of all, while I was in the shower, just the typical scrub yourself clean and get out kind of shower, Addie emptied and entire bottle of perfume in my bedroom. This particular bottle didn't even smell good in small amounts let alone in a concentrated amount in a small confined area!
Lucky for us it was another beautiful day outside. We ditched the house and played outside. Then we took pink sugar cookies to Dad's office just to find out is meeting continued on into the evening to include Dinner! Uhhhh. By this point I knew that as a Mom my fuse was rapidly shrinking. I had already cleaned the house, dealt with a stinky mess, made sugar cookies and cleaned up the mess. My amazingness was running on low. So on that note McDonald's for dinner and then off to the park. Sounds good right! Wrong!
Like usual I didn't have my wedding ring on, and never even thought twice about it until... A stinkin' single Dad. I knew I was in trouble when he actually got up off the bench to come over the play area to talk. After making chit chat and clearly stating that I was married and pregnant, I was able to run off to help Addie. I couldn't ditch the guy and to make things worse we were the only ones in the play area of the park. So when Addie was stinky, we make our attempt for an exit. Out of all the cars to park next to it had to be his! Its true, so as I'm getting into my car he couldn't just stick to "see ya later" more like never. Nope he throws out the "hey I got an extra pass at the pool if you want to ever join us." Seriously, you have got to be kidding me, what part of happily married and pregnant did you miss! Obviously I politely declined jumped in the car and drove away. to the parking lot of the restaurant where Paul was having Dinner (it was only down the street) or that I could text him this funny encounter. Of course Paul thought it was hilarious and decided to share it with the table and has decided to tease me about it every time he has a chance. I know that Addie and I are cute, but seriously. Now I have to find a new park for a while. Who knew it was such a jungle out there, who would have thought that married women would be considered prey for the predators in the dating world! YIKES!

Never so Happy for Dad to be Home!

This little clip is the base for about 8 different hair flowers and what nots that make Addie's hair so cute! But oh how it has been a pain in my A**. A couple months ago we lost it at Costa Vida when it fell out, but luckily the next time we were in they had it in the lost and found. Then again Sunday night not even 2 hours after Paul left for Idaho Falls catastrophe strikes. I have Addie up on the bathroom counter so that I could brush out the tangles and get it out of her face. While I'm busy with that, Addie is playing with her little clippies, and that is when it happened. "Uh Oh Mommy, where dit doe?" Yup she told me in not so many words that it went down the drain, Yippe. First it was the DVR in our bedroom that mysteriously wouldn't work and now a hair clip in the drain. And I'm thinking great when is Paul going to have time to work on all this!

So Monday finally comes and it turns out to be a sunny warm day. What a great way to bring in March and the perfect opportunity to send Addie A.K.A. Distructomatic Girl outside to play! So in the Morning I decided that I could fish out the hair clip, and get the laundry started and so that we could play outside all afternoon. Let me just say that the drain was sooooo disgusting! Then only thing I can compare the smell to is the Waste Water Treatment Center. It was so foul, but a lot of bleach took care of that and in no time I realized that the clip was not in the drain. A cheap a dime a dozen one was but not the one that we have to go to Utah to get a replacement for. That one was behind the toilet not in the drain.

By this point the house was trashed. Bert had her toys everywhere, but the laundry was started and the bathroom was clean so we ditched our chores and went out to play!

Addie drew beautiful pictures with her sidewalk chalk. Stole Ellie's collar to make a necklace and jump jumped with friends, While Mom got her Vitamin D fix.

Finally when Mom was done being Mom and Addie was more than sick of Mom, Dad came home! Just in time to put Addie to bed and then collapse in exhaustion and watch House before we went to bed.
