Not so good Snow Day!

When I woke up this morning I thought that it was going to be the bestimest coziest snow day of the season. I slept in, well to most of America I sleep in everyday, but that is not the point, today I really slept in. I stayed in bed and read a good book. Then when Addie finally woke up at 10 am we turned on the fire and cuddle in a blanket on the couch and watched Bolt. So far so good, right! Well about now Addie starts whining that she wants more than grapes for breakfast, so the great Mom that I am, gets up and finds her sippy cup, so that I can put milk in it. Sounds like a great breakfast to me! And that is when I find that her Sippy cup already had milk in it! Yikes, milk + headed bed = GROSS! Evidently last night when I decided that I was to tired to be a mom I guess I sent Addie to bed with a milk sippy and didn't know it, so this morning when I was expecting water I got cottage cheese! Now that that is all cleaned up and I have had enough lounging around the house I decided that a nice hot bubble bath would be fantastic! Not remembering that anytime Addie sees a bubble bath she has to join in. So much for relaxing, you try shaving your legs while Addie attempts to play London Bridge, not so easy, I promise! Not forgetting the water that has been splashed everywhere and the crying and the soap in the eyes we made it out clean and alive. After we get dressed and ready for a lazy day around the house I realize that it is after Noon. Guess I better find something to make for lunch. Popcorn! Better yet Kettle Corn, Addie thought it was a great plan and I didn't mind, whatever mess we make Ellie dog cleans up! So we cuddle on the couch and watch 102 Dalmatians and enjoy our popcorn. Next comes nap time! So I put Addie down and I decided to make some yummy cookies! An hour later my kitchen is a mess Addie is still not asleep and I think I'm the next Betty Crocker. I purchased an eggplant last week so I thought eggplant parmigiana would be great for dinner! Turns out that I suck at picking produce and on top of that I totally burned it and now I still don't have dinner, my kitchen is a disaster, not mention that I have loads and loads of laundry to do, Addie destroyed her room, my bathroom and my closet! Looks like my lazy morning has turned into an afternoon of cleaning! It always works out like this. Whenever I decide that I want to be lazy and let my duties as Mom, Wife, maid and chef take a break I end up with more work than ever! I guess my duties are calling maybe I will make it back tomorrow to post about our Thanksgiving trip to Utah!

NO!

Addie's Favorite word is is NO! Addie do you want to eat, No, Addie do you want a treat, NO Addie, NO! So it is rather difficult to know the real No from the No-yes. But the other night when I said Addie do you want to put your jammies on, you don't have to go to bed, it was no surprise to hear "Noooo Mommy, mooieeee" (Movie). So Addie ran back to finish watching her movie and I grabbed her jammies and left them on the couch and finished cleaning up. When it was time to actually get ready for bed I couldn't find her jammies that I had laid out, so I looked and looked, sure that I did in fact lay out jammies. Annoyed I gave up and got another pair and went on the hunt to find Addie. At first sight of Mommy and the jammies came a "noooo night night". Later when I we finally decided to go to bed I found the missing jammies. Addie had decided that if she hid the jammies then she wouldn't have to go to bed. So she hid them in her favorite fort, behind the recliner in our room. Addie loves to recline the reclinner and pile all the pillows and blankets behind the chair, jump off in the bed into the puffamatic landing pad she created then crawl behind the chair and play.

Carving Pumkins

Nothing says Happy Halloween like a pumpkin carving party. Our friends Peter & Rhonda Sarantis had a really fun party. They had 50 pumpkins and we carved and carved till we couldn't carve anymore. Addie really liked the idea that she could pull on the stump and the top would come off, it was like magic to a 2 year old.

Dad hard at work! Carving his master piece and Addie ready to draw another master piece.

At least someone notices when Mom wants to get a picture!

We had a great time carving pumpkins talking with friends and eating good food! The Sarantis family know how to have a good time, and the Hannants are always happy to join in!

Halloween

Happy Halloween from the Addams Family! This year Addie refused to be Tinkerbell. She refused to have anything to do with everything Tinkerbell. So I thought that she could then wear her Zebra costume, but yet again would have nothing to do with it. The only costume that she would even consider was her Spider from last year, good thing Addie didn't grow to much! And even when it came time to dress up, she wasn't sure about Mom's new look and wanted nothing to do with her new parents! With a little help from her cousin Abby we were able to trick her into wearing her costume! Thanks Abby!

We decided that Addie needed some mentors in the Halloween Department. So we went to Dave and Jody's and Trick or Treated in their neighbohood. It is a good thing that she had her cousins to teach her a thing or two about Halloween.

Rule #1, when you knock on someones door and they open the door, it doesn't mean that we are suposed to go inside! It only took a couple of doors and Addie had that one down.

Rule # 2 Stay together and always look cute! Check! By the end of the night Addie Addie had mastered Trick or Treating. She would stand close to the door and hold her little treat bucket (a hairy eyeball) up and say Teeeet, and happily wait until they filled her eye with candy! She loved Halloween so much that she had to sleep with her Hairy Eyeball!

Addie wore her spider all day, we weren't taking any chances. Addie was going to be a spider and like it! Mom had worked too hard on Tinkerbell and didn't want to fight anymore!

Paul's Birthday

I know that Paul's birthday was more than a month ago, but I couldn't not document it. We decided to go to the Oregon Coast, with a stop in Portland to do a little tax-free shopping and enjoy Burgerville & Moe's, Yummmm. We had a wonderful time. Joy watched Addie so that we could get all our favorite stores packed into our one shopping day! It was a beautiful Oregon weekend. The weather was wonderful not a raindrop in site and even better than that Paul shared is birthday shopping and let me enjoy a few purchases. Isn't he the greatest husband ever, shopping and the coast all in one weekend!

I just wanted to make sure that both sides were documented! Joy's family stayed at the beach house with us, which was lots of fun. Addie loves playing with her cousins, and they love her! I think Tate will learn to love her in time! Baby Battles, uhhhh. So until that day we will just wear ear plugs;)

Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend we decides that it was time to take Addie to a pumpkin patch. After last years adventure we had high expectations, but Linder Farms wasn't too shabby. Addie loved the baby goats, well actually she likes any animal that will let her love them, especially her ehyeee (Ellie). Addie had a blast she rode the cow train, took a swing on the big girl swing, played with all the animals in the petting zoo, and not to forget bounced the Bounce House! We couldn't go to a pumpkin patch and not get pumpkins, so after a few hayrides and wondering aimlessly through patched of pumpkins the Hannant Pumpkins were found! All in all we are having fun exploring our new state of Idaho!

Ellie is often confused for a pony!
Don't feel bad for her she loves it!
And when she is done she sits down and Addie slides right off!

Yeah! Noolk Mommy!

Bumping! Oh how I love to Bump!

Weeeeee

Can I take him home mommy, tease!

See Daddy he likes me.

I think we fit, well maybe!

PhD

So last night as I was trying to get warm in the freezing cold sheets. My wonderful loving husband gets into bed and starts scissor kicking and breaking apart the warm little cocoon that I had created. As I began to get irritated he looked and me, smiled and said I love youuu! Then he proceeded to tell me how I had the Phd in being a Brat! He had just completed his Bachelors in July and was working on is Masters degree in Brat! Gee I think it is going to be a looong winter!

Better Late than Never

Those that know me, know that I am seldom early, rarely on-time and mostly late, but not too late. So better late than never is my slogan for life. I know blogging has been around for years, but here I am trying to figure it out a few years later.
