Life as a 3 year Old

Any takers on Potty Training my 3 year old! I am lucky to get the child to even agree to sit on the potty let alone pee in it! She has absolutely no interest in being a "Big Girl".
I say "No Addie" then she does it anyway!
LOVES her hideously adorable sparkly twinkly shoes! It is amazing how these shoes can be so ugly on their own, and then magically become adorable when Addie wears them!

Addie might be a little behind on the potty training but she is extremely talented! She is a highly reputable artist, just a rough draft of a family portrait she drew while hanging out with Dad at the office.
She is also a snake charmer. Charming snakes is actually the first step to becoming a certified animal trainer! (Addie 0 Snake 1)
I bet you didn't know that Addie is also a costume designer. Not exactly appropriate for a nice Sunday evening, but still and amazing ensemble.
Not to forget that Addie is also a Fairy Trainer. She is giving TinkerBell a brief dance lesson.
All these amazing talents and she is only 3. I can't wait to see Avery's talents develop. Everyday I am amazed that I was blessed with 2 beautiful girls that have made me a better person and a pretty good Mom, if I do say so myself!

Weekend in Island Park

This past weekend we went to Island Park with the McInstosh Family. The weather was beautiful, the people were awesome, and it was free admissions to Yellowstone. Can't ask for a better weekend!
Addie & Cooper ready to hit the trail!
We couldn't leave Avery behind! She really did love it, promise!
Addie with her adopted family.
Addie Love Love Loved the 4 wheelers!
Teegan and Addie shopping in West Yellowstone
Please Dad, I need the whole wolf pack!
Just a few of the highlight of a wonderful afternoon.

Seriously Addie wanted nothing to do with her family. She wanted to be a McIntosh. Back at the cabin I couldn't even get her to cuddle with me, she cried when I tried to make her. She ran back to Jake and Brittany.
Waiting for Old Faithful. Mostly old and not so faithful! (17 min. late)
We had such a wonderful time, it was hard to get in the car to drive home! Addie was totally bummed to leave Teegan, Cooper and her other Mom and Dad. Luckily she was soooo tired that she didn't have to cry long!

Traumatic Day

It was nice to wake up this morning to a smiley happy baby. If only my day had continued to be that nice. This morning as I was brushing and flossing, I noticed that I had two holes in my back molars! YES HOLES!

That's what I thought, hummmm!
Luckily I was able to get into the Dentist this afternoon. I must say I found a wonderful dental office. It was all a little overwhelming to see pictures of my mouth and how it was in desperate need of some dental love! I am not sure why exactly but I was a little (a lot) emotional over my teeth. They handled an emotional me like a champ! They gave me a paraffin treatment, turned on Friends and let me zone out as they went to work. Dr. Pilling was amazing, never in my life have I endured a filling without feeling a lot of pain. I didn't feel a thing, my hands are now amazingly soft, and best of all my white trash holes are gone! It is a good thing, because I will be spending a few more afternoons and A LOT of money on these pearly whites (more like not so pearly or white)!

Happy Medium

There is no denying the fact that Addie Loves her sister. Thank goodness we haven't had any send her back meltdowns! Now if I can only convince her that Mommy doesn't still have a baby in her tummy we would be good!

Dad loves being able to hang out with his girls. Especially while they still love to watch football! A Dad can only enjoy Big Red Dog and George so many times before he needs a break!

The girls love it when Dad reads the bedtime stories! He makes the best sound effects.

Addie is advanced you know. When you can't understand what she is saying, just have her type it out. When she isn't reprogramming the computer you can often find her refining her artistic abilities.

For those who are less skilled in the realm of the arts, it is Addie's own interpretation of a house and a dog.

I may not have it all figured out, but I have a least found a happy medium. I have a new philosophy and it seems to be working. It doesn't matter if my kitchen floor is mopped or that my closet is a disaster. As long as everything is picked up and mostly clean we are doing great!

Fall is in the Air

I am not gunna lie, this week was hard. I declared it take your 3 year old to work day twice this week. I even offered to drop her off at "Dad's House" as Addie calls his office. Poor Add not even her Dad was willing to wrangle her, something about having to actually work got in the way of my perfect plan. Summer is officially over, and I had to send my family home. I guess it is poetic to be in sink with the seasons. As one chapter closes we begin a new one filled with adventure. As summer is my favorite season, filled with pools, sun tans and lots of snow cones. We are ready to start enjoying all that fall has to offer, beautiful trees, cool afternoons at the park and lots of pumpkins!
Being a Mom is full of emotions. All in the same day I can be completely amazed feeling blessed to have my children and by the afternoon I'm ready to give them away. This week was filled with those kind of days. Maybe it was in part due to the fact that my Mom left and another part due to the change in weather. Whatever it was I am ready for the return of my sweet girls. A mom can only handle grumpy for so long! Next week I vow to be a better more patient Mother, and maybe cook a meal or two. Adjusting to 2 kids is not as easy as I thought. Addie has been super needy especially when Avery has my attention, and not to forget that I am exhausted all the time. But I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Just Us, We are on our Own

This is how Avery really feels about Inonna going home!
Addie has resorted to pots and pans to keep her entertained.
We are just excited that it is a short week. The tuff reality of being on our own is exhausting!
Inonna played with Addie helped around the house and gave me adult interaction. Now it is just me and the girls all day long. We will hope for better luck next week, hopefully we won't be so grumpy. Thank goodness for the weekend!

Happy Birthday Auntie MoMo

"MoMo is coming MoMo is coming" Addie has been asking about her Auntie MoMo. Avery is just happy to be here, while Addie keeps asking "where's MoMo go? MoMo's house?".
Addie was so excited for her Auntie MoMo that she wore herself out waiting for her and had to take a little nap. If you know anything about Addie you would know that sleeping is a four letter for her!
MoMo finally made it and Addie couldn't have been more proud to show off her new baby sister.
Auntie MoMo getting aquatinted with her new niece.
It wasn't too long before Addie booted Avery out of MoMo's arms.
I am not sure what MoMo ever did, because as a baby Addie wanted nothing to do with MoMo. Now they are two peas in a pod!
When Addie isn't attacking MoMo she is all over her Inonna.
We totally enjoy the fact that MoMo wants to be the favorite auntie, and take full advantage. It is a good thing she is a good sport about it all. I think we probably said "go ask Auntie MoMo" a hundred times throughout the weekend.
Inonna and her magical finger. The only thing other than Mom that would calm down a hungry Avery. It only works for Inonna, everyone else is left with a grumpy baby.
Jackets on labor day weekend, what is wrong with the weather!
"No go MoMo"
Then when we had to go to the airport and say bye to Inonna. We were all bummed to have to send Inonna home. 2 weeks with Inonna here has made for one rested Mom and a more than happy/spoiled Addie. Going back to reality is going to be a shock for both Mom and Addie!

Summer Today Fall Tomorrow

Parenting at its finest! When you are driving and your child is rear facing it is rather difficult to be able to see what is going on let alone fix the problem! Good thing she fell asleep, I like to think of it as sleeping mask.
At our house we have divas in all sizes! Miss Addie has decided that she is her own stylist. We firmly believe that all shades of pink can and should be worn together.
We believe that there is always a suitable hair bow for any and all occasions, even when your just chillaxing on the couch.

While Avery sleeps the day away, Addie and I find all kinds of ways to keep busy.

I find that outings are a bit harder now, I seem to be short a few arms! Since my Mom has been here the last week and a half, it has made outings way easier. One adult per kid, now if I could only have one more to keep up with my purse of goods and to keep my phone and keys handy! Well while I'm dreaming why don't we add a personal trainer, some hair extension and my own tanning bed and then I could change my name to Kate minus the 8.
Thank Goodness for the playground in our own backyard!
Since the weather has cooled off, playing outside has become fun again.
Look at me, I'm upside down! Again again Innona!
Addie sometimes thinks that she can avoid bedtime if she hides out in the sandbox! Like we wouldn't notice that our sweet destructo queen was MIA.

As Innona and I were cleaning off the front porch and getting it ready for Fall, Addie decided to inspect the Halloween decorations and become the Witch of Glade Creek, Ooooohhhhh! Instead of a black cat she prefers a spooky Ellette!
