After being home from Arkansas for a week or so we just couldn't stay put. We decided to make a last minute trip to Utah for the 4th of July. No complaints from Addie, she had her boys and a Grandma who loves to spoil her and fill her full of Chocolate milk and candy.
As we waited for Carrie Underwood to finish up her performance so we could watch the magic, we played on the Cougar. Some people pay to go to Stadium of Fire, we just camp outside of the stadium listen to the show and watch the sky light up afterwards!
We started out pretty good, Addie liked the music, loved climbing on the cougar and enjoyed the first couple of fireworks.
Once the big booms and the crackles started Addie wasn't so sure about the diamonds in the sky. The previous night while we were on Grandma's back porch we could see a few fireworks and she loved them from a distance. When directly under them, she wasn't so sure that she liked being up close and personal with the fireworks.
Luckily after a little convincing she decided that she would given them a second chance, but only one eye at a time!
By the end of the show Addie was in awe and watching with both eyes! Since she missed half the show when it was over she ordered more, "again again". Lucky for her, there was an encore finale of fireworks!
What a night! First parking, need I say more, then hiking to our spot, next we had to keep Addie busy until the fireworks started, sharing the cougar and keeping her from sneaking into the stadium to get cotton candy (which she doesn't like), and finally convincing her to uncover her eyes! At first I was worried that all our hard work was going to be wasted, but by the end Addie loved the fireworks and loved playing with Jack Jack. So I guess it was all in a fun filled family night!
