A Day in the life of a Hannant

My fearless little fish! Addie is already diving. When she gets something in her head she goes after it! She is scary confident in her swimming abilities. She tells her teachers to go far far far away so that she can swim to them. She gets so excited that she forgets to close her mouth and ends up sinking like a rock, but a rock with a great big smile on her face!
Ms. Kara taught Addie how to put her head back and float to keep her from sinking.
We are finally starting to have some summer weather! Sunny afternoons, popsicles, and sprinklers are what we dream of all winter long!
Abby and Addie are hanging out in Addie & Avery's early birthday present! They set up an animal hospital, for all of their sick animals. I think Addie has been watching a little too much Animal planet with Dad!
Don't be fooled by a sweet face, nothing but mischief! Avery is now 2 steps closer to being a toddler! I can't believe how fast my baby is growing!
Dinner out in a restaurant with kids, a very very bad idea! Avery may look cute eating 2 loafs of bread, but that is only because she was a fountain of bodily fluids during dinner!
At least Addie only spilled her chocolate milk. She didn't need a new outfit, like her sister!
Chocolate milk, poop, and puke all during one dinner is more than any Mom should need to clean up! It is a really good thing I love those girls and more importantly that Gymboree was really close and having a great sale! It saved Avery from going naked!

Swim Lessons

I finally got Addie into swim lessons, yay! Last year I wanted to, but I never managed to get my ducks in a row to make it actually happen.
The weather has not been acting very summer like lately. Luckily they heat their pool to 90 degrees for the kids! Addie stays nice and warm as long as she is in the water, when she gets out it is shiverfest!
Addie keeps her teachers on their toes! When it isn't her turn, she is off into trouble. She likes to hand onto the side and go explore to the deep end, throw all the diving rings, and see how many kick boards she can put in the pool before someone notices. Honestly I don't know where she gets it!
It is definitely a good thing that Miss Becca and Miss Kara like her, because she gives them a run for their money. The other kids were a little more hesitant to jump off the board, not our Addie. They try to tell her to jump in front of them, but no. Every time she jump directly on top of them! She thinks that it is so funny, and they just laugh and say silly Addie!
Already one week in to a 2 week session, and the girls have earned their keep. Addie is comfortable going under water. She does her bobs now without screaming NO! Big improvement. The first several days when they would do bobs, she would say "No" and then start to scream "Nooo" as she would be dunked! When it was her turn to blow bubbles with her nose she would argue that it was time to kick. As we we wrapped up our lesson on Friday and she was bobbing up and down without and arguments, fearlessly jumping off the diving board and retrieving rings off the bottom. At this rate she will be swimming laps by the end of the summer.

Another Fun Saturday Downtown

Saturday's Market is one of our favorite things to do. It is a win win for everyone. Dad gets to people watch, I get to wander in and out of all the booths, Avery sips on Mom's fresh lemonade, and Addie gets to play in the fountain!
As long as we keep the lemonade flowing Avery is happy enough.
Addie on the other hand is as happy as a clam just we be running around in the fountain.

After slurping down Mom's Lemonade and a little downtime, Avery was back in action and ready to play!

Not So Warm Memorial Day

Traditionally Memorial Day weekend was always anxiously awaited! It represented the official start of our favorite season, Summer! Julianna, swimming, Mr. Burger cherry limeades, and hours and hours of playing, the typical day at the Stutte house during the Summers in the 90's.
I would love to pass those marvelous memories on to my children, but they will have to settle for fun in the tub, and pants for a little longer than hoped.
Avery has even been waiting for the sun to come out and play! We are all a little tired of the April showers, we are ready for May flowers.
Sweaters, seriously isn't it supposed to be Summer. It is a good thing the girls are to young to be irritated by the uncooperative weather.
More importantly, it is a good thing that Uncle Dave has a warm Hot Tub, to be a stand in until its pool weather.
Nothing says Summer like a crackling fire in the fireplace and kids splashing about in the hot tub!
Finally late Monday afternoon the Sun decided come out and invite the girls to come and play! After a really lazy weekend and a little Kung Fu, we were able to have a Snow Cone and play outside for a bit!

In all seriousness, our family is extremely grateful for all the service men and women who have fought and continue to fight to protect our country. We are grateful for all that their families sacrifice, so that they can serve and protect our country.

Sooo BiG

I can not believe how fast these girls are growing! The time has literally flown by! My baby is huge, now she is a jabber monkey, with lightening speed! I swear she says Hi, she might call me DaDaDaDa every now and then, but she definitely knows that I am her MaMaMa!
Addie is so funny. I has turned into a BiG girl! She was once my itty bitty hip attachment! She is a knock knock joke, "angee birds" addicted big girl!
Avery wants so badly to be just like her big sister. I am going to be in big trouble when I'm out numbered. Paul and his mini-mes are not know for their healthy diets. Noodles and Pop Tarts seem to be the only food that Avery likes to eat.
With warm weather frequenting our afternoons we have been thoroughly enjoying the backyard. Avery Loves LOve Loves her swing. I swear the swing is laced with something. It totally makes Ave mellow. She has even been known to fall asleep in it.
Addie has put a whole new meaning to sliding into 1st. I honestly don't know how she comes up with this stuff, we aren't even baseball fans. She taps the plate, throws the bat, and runs the bases. She even made mitts out of her water wings. Smart little cookie.
Avery is also a smart little nut. don't be fooled by her attempt to eat the IPad. She knows how to play her pond game and loves to watch, "angee birds".
I have two beautiful little girls who can light up a room and charm a stranger. But even divas need their beauty sleep.
Especially when they are busy crawlking around the house. Today I watched her walk with her toy for the first time. Avery and Addie are turning into cute little buddies. I absolutely love when I walk into a room and hear them laughing and playing together, it makes all the "No Baby No's" worth it!

Never a Dull Moment

Every morning starts with a smile at our house. Avery wakes up every morning with a gummy smile big bright eyes peeking over the top of her bed ready for an adventure.
The rest of the family is a bit slower and less anxious to start the day. Addie was more than thrilled to have her morning snuggles with Auntie MoMo. MoMo never hesitates to enjoy a chance to be lazy, especially when Addie is around. Addie can wear a person out, just by looking at you!
Addie conqueror of all! She may look like a sweet innocent girl, don't be fooled.
Speaking of being fooled. I know, I know how could I possibly be a day over 25. But it is true, I just celebrated my first of many 29th birthdays! Addie loves birthdays, whats not to love! Cake, presents, singing, what 3 year old wouldn't want to join in!

Miss Avery has officially graduated to the giant baby cage! We tried playing outside, but Addie wouldn't share her toys, Avery kept eating the dirt, and Mom couldn't get any yard work done! Thank You Trampoline, I will take whatever I can get!
Miss Addie June has been begging us to play Rock Band, and finally we gave in. By the looks of it we are going to have two little rockers on our hands. Avery was our back up dancer, while Addie was our drummer/dancer/singer. She is really talented.
Documented for the nonbelievers out there! Addie and Avery actually played together! It is true, they shared a bath without tears, and shouting "No Baby NO" miracle I say.
Just when I think that I have made progress, I end up 2 steps back! Avery has figured out how to climb up on things. She hears me doing dished and hustles on over to "help".
Addie likes to help too. She thought that she would help me water the yard, by chasing her with hose. Not exactly the yard work I had in mind, but why not!

It was a sad day when Auntie MoMo had to hit the road. Mostly I am amazed that there was even room for Addie to get into the car! MoMo's car is very carefully locked and loaded. Cross your fingers that she doesn't get a flat. She would have better luck calling AAA and having them bring her a new tire than digging her spare out! Did I mention that the drivers door is the only openable door. Good Luck MoMo we will miss you!

Easter Festivities

Who can resist the egg spinner! We know the Beddes's couldn't!
It has been a rough weekend for the Hannant Family, but we didn't let it stop us from having fun. A door ran into Addie and picked a fight. Sadly she lost, Avery started teething and has been miserable.
And yet, we still managed to throw in a few smiles. The door was smart, it hit the bruises under her chin and in her eyelid. Sneaky door.
Addie was a little confused at first, we put the eggs and the baskets out for the Easter Bunny, and we checked on them and they were gone!
Good thing they were only in the backyard, sneaky little Easter Bunny.

This year was the first time that we had Easter at home. For the first time ever I made Easter Dinner, I even made deviled eggs. Trust me that in itself is amazing since we only had a couple hours of sleep the night before. Avery wanted to let the entire neighborhood know that she was uncomfortable.

Confessions of a seriously sleep deprived Mom, first off for the next 10 days I will have to make up for my non-christian behavior of a very important christian holiday. 1) I admit to drugging my child with Benedryl in an attempt to get a little sleep. (didn't work) 2) Didn't even make it to Easter Sunday Church 3) Went to Wal-greens in Easter Sunday. Whew I feel better with that off my chest. Now I will work on being more Christlike since I can't even manage to be religious on the one Sunday that symbolized the Savior's Atonement.
I will say that Addie is a little more than confused about Jesus and the Easter Bunny, it is kinda a lot for a 3 year to take in.
