Just Hangin' Out

Sometimes the most uneventful moments are the most enjoyable.
This week has been full of everyday stuff. Avery eating, oh how that kid loves to eat!
Addie helping out around the house. She is my little Miss. Fixit!
It wouldn't be the Hannant House if we didn't have a little horsey ride. Our kids learn quick so we might as well teach them while they are young.
Avery LOVES her sister. Someday they are going to be best friends!
Well they might be friends if we can teach Addie to share, and to stop taking over all of Avery's things! Addie thinks that the pack & Play is her personal play pin! Oh well I will save that lesson for another day.
Until then I will just keep my fingers crossed that she doesn't break something!

Crazy Exhausted

Last week was so exhausting that I am just now blogging about it! Paul has just changed positions with work. He is now a Regional Sales Coordinator and we have been TOTALLY busy setting up his new office. Last week we took on the challenge of painting his entire office. Thank goodness MoMo and Sammie Jam came for the weekend. If not we would still be painting. Ok well there is still a little touch up painting. After 3 days of painting and neglected children we decided that it could wait for another day.
After I put the girls to work painting and tending my children, I gave them the craft project that I promised. That was promised before I knew that I was going to need their slave labor to get Paul's office presentable.
All in all I hope that they still enjoyed their long weekend. I know that Addie sure loved having them! After a weekend at our house I am sure that Sammie will not be starting her own family for many years. As they waved good-bye and I had a baby with poop up to her armpits and Addie refusing to do everything.

It wasn't until after they drove away, that Addie realized that she was stuck with me and sister. That is when the real tears started, "MoMo and Ammie, I want MoMo". I all can say is that a day at my house is never dull.

Bedtime with the Girls

It seems as though bedtime has turned into playtime. Notice that Paul is the only one actually near the bed. He seems to be readying Dr. Seuss to himself, while Addie is jumping on my back!

Our family ritual of story time, prayers, snack, kisses, hugs and eventually sleep. Bedtime seems to get a little wild, it seems as if we are reading to the wall. Then out of the blue Addie will finish the sentence as she jumps across the bed. All I can say is that our children definitely know that we love them, or more like they know they have us wrapped around their little fingers! What can I say our kids are the love of our life!

Memory Lane

This week I have felt as if my Wuggie (my Mom's Mom) has been watching over me. Weird I know, but I have felt oddly close to her this week. As Avery has started inching and rolling back and forth all over the floor, I realized that these are the moments that she wouldn't have wanted to miss.
I have been reminiscing funny Wuggie memories since I saw an ad for Obsession cologne a couple of weeks ago. She would give Uncle Andy a new bottle and a sweater every year for Christmas. I couldn't tell you what she gave me but I remember Uncle Andy's presents. My Mom would always make cookies for Justin. Another factoid from my memory bank.
As Addie ran around as a princess, lip glossed and then glossed some more thinking that she was a big girl who could paint her own nails. I could have sworn I heard her say "Now Miss. Priss" in her sternest voice. Then again when I was making CTR towels for the kids in my old primary class, I realized how she must have felt as she created many of our presents. Whether it was an elaborate dress or a not so loved Christmas sweatshirt I realized that she was probably the most under appreciated person in my life. Wuggie was a constant in my life. She never missed a holiday or birthday. She cheered at every basketball, softball piano recital or cheered us up with friday night CiCis Pizza. She was regularly involved, she always helped with shuttling and feeding of kids and never hesitated to be involved in all of our activities.
It is just a shame that she didn't live long enough for me to grow up and appreciate all that she did for me. She sadly died while I was in my teenage self-absorbed years when I seemed to be the most critical and the least appreciative. As I start this New Year I hope that I can take this lesson to heart and appreciate all the pillars in my life and not take them for granted. I can only hope that I teach my children to love and appreciate their family and to accept them unconditionally, quirks in all!

We are excited to see what this year has in store! I'm sure we will have many great memories and even more incites as we grow and mature into the adults our parents hoped for.

P.s One more random thought. As it has been frigidly cold outside, Addie has found amusement in breathing on the glass door and scribbling. As a I watched her do this I had a flash back of me, my sister and cousin (mostly Chelsea) doing the same thing Christmas Eve at Wuggie's as we waited for people to come or waved good-bye as they left. Who am I kidding we did it off and on all evening long. What kid can resist blowing on cold glass and scribbling a note or a picture repeatedly!

P.P.s I passed a Station Wagon, the other more. Need I say more! I began counting the numerous laws we broke during my childhood transporting transporting the entire clan to the swimming pool. Ahhh Memories!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! It looks like Santa brought some good loot for a couple of good little girls this year!
Avery liked her new bow and chair that she insisted on testing them out immediately!
After a little convincing we were able to get Addie excited about Christmas. This morning when we heard her playing in her room we asked if she was ready to see what Santa had brought her and she replied "NO". What kid in the history of Christmas has ever said No on Christmas morning?
It didn't take long for her to warm up to the idea of presents, one look and she was excited.
Nothing says Christmas like new undies and some purple jammies, Yup thats how we roll.

And who will be cleaning up this mess, I'm ready for a nap! Christmas Eve is the longest night ever for kids but seems to be the shortest night for Mom and Dad.
Now that we have had a good morning of presents time for breakfast, Yummmm.
Addie is patiently waiting for her pink pancakes.
While Avery enjoyed her first taste of oatmeal.
We are very blessed and grateful to celebrate the birth of our Savior. He has blessed our lives beyond anything we could ask for! With that we gives thanks to the One who has made it all possible and we thank Him for all we have been given.
Me To, Thank you for my Mommy and Daddy!

Cookies for Santa

To ensure that Santa received the best cookies on the block, we hosted a cookie decorating party.
The other Hannants and the Beddes family came over to help our cause. But after making cookies all after noon Torrie and I were grateful the kids were all over the cookie decorating!

Cookie Cookie who wants a cookie?
Just a few of our master cookie decorators.
Dave and Jody joining in the fun! They couldn't let the kids have all the fun, or use all the sprinkles. Someone had to train them how to moderate.
While everyone decorated, Addie watched Max and Ruby. She wanted nothing to do with the cookies. I tried to get her to watch the Grinch Who Stole Christmas. I had it turned on for her and not even 5 minutes later I heard her screaming for help. So I run back to find her under the cover hiding and yelling "help Help, turn it off!" So I do and she jumps out and goes "Whew that was guaoss (close)". Yeah Addie that Grinch sure can be scary.

All in All we had a fun night of cousin, friends, fun and food!

Twas the Night before the Night before Christmas

And all through the house munchkins were stirring, there better not be a mouse!
This week has been all about relaxing, fighting to stay healthy and enjoying some good ol' movie marathons!

No Joke we are excited that we don't have to leave the house unless we want to! The stockings are hung, the presents are wrapped the groceries purchased and Santa we want you!
